A storyboard is a graphic organizer such as a series of images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing an animated sequence.
Generally, storyboards are for "in production" use, and are not released publicly, however they have appeared on a few DVDs and in the lead up to the return of the show for a sixth season, Comedy Central began a Countdown to Futurama where parts of the storyboards are released.
